Warranty and fit support
Updated September 21, 2026
A night guard warranty and a satisfaction guarantee are not the same thing. One addresses defects in materials or workmanship. The other gives you a defined window to work through fit concerns. Here is how Sentinel separates the two.
Quick answer
Yes. Sentinel night guards include product-specific warranty coverage for defects in materials or workmanship under normal use: six months for the Comfort Guard and one year for the Hard, Hybrid, and Durability Guards. Fit concerns are handled separately through our 100-Day Satisfaction Guarantee.
Warranty versus satisfaction guarantee
| If your concern is... | The relevant support path is... |
|---|---|
| The guard has a defect in materials or workmanship during normal use. | Product warranty |
| The guard is uncomfortable, does not fit as expected, or you may need a different material or thickness. | 100-Day Satisfaction Guarantee |
| Your teeth, dental work, or orthodontic treatment have changed since the guard was made. | A new impression or current scan may be needed |
This distinction matters because a guard can be structurally sound but still need fit support—and a well-fitting guard can eventually wear out without that being a manufacturing defect.
Sentinel night guard warranty lengths
| Night guard | Warranty length |
|---|---|
| Comfort Guard | 6 months |
| Hard Guard | 1 year |
| Hybrid Guard | 1 year |
| Durability Guard | 1 year |
Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. Depending on the situation, Sentinel may repair, replace, or remake the guard using the impression or digital file on record when it remains appropriate to do so.
What the product warranty does not cover
Night guards are protective appliances, but they are not indestructible. Warranty coverage does not include:
- normal wear and tear from regular use;
- damage caused by excessive grinding or chewing;
- accidental damage, loss, or pet damage;
- damage caused by improper care, heat, or storage;
- unauthorized alterations or self-adjustments; or
- changes to your dental anatomy after dental work, orthodontic treatment, or other changes in your teeth.
Why dental changes matter
A night guard is made from a specific version of your teeth. A new crown, filling, implant, veneer, extraction, orthodontic movement, or other dental change can affect how the guard seats. In that case, a new impression or current digital scan may be the appropriate next step—not a warranty replacement.
How the 100-Day Satisfaction Guarantee works
The 100-Day Satisfaction Guarantee is for fit-related concerns. Contact Sentinel within 100 days of delivery if the guard is uncomfortable, does not fit as expected, or does not feel like the right material or thickness for you.
We may suggest an adjustment, remake, complimentary replacement impression kit, or an exchange to another guard type or thickness on the same arch. The guarantee allows up to three fit attempts. If we cannot achieve a satisfactory outcome after those attempts, you may return the product for a refund less the $23 impression-kit and shipping deduction.
An upper guard and a lower guard are different custom appliances; changing to the opposing arch is not an exchange.
What to do if you think your guard is covered
Contact Sentinel before making changes to the guard yourself. Tell us what happened, when you first noticed it, and whether anything about your teeth or dental work has changed. Photos can help our team understand the issue and determine the appropriate next step.
If you have new tooth pain, swelling, a loose tooth or restoration, or a sudden bite change, contact your dentist. A replacement guard is not the right first step for an active dental problem.
Choose the guard built for your needs
Sentinel offers custom night guards in flexible, firm, hybrid, and heavier-duty options—each made in our Florida lab.

Does a night guard warranty cover a guard that wears down?
Not always. Normal wear is different from a defect in materials or workmanship. The type and timing of the wear, along with your grinding habits, matter when Sentinel reviews a warranty request.
What if my night guard does not fit comfortably?
Contact Sentinel within 100 days of delivery. Fit concerns are handled through the 100-Day Satisfaction Guarantee rather than the product warranty.
Can I change from an upper guard to a lower guard?
No. Upper and lower guards are separate custom appliances because they are made from different dental anatomy. Changing to the opposing arch is not an exchange.
Can I adjust my night guard at home?
Do not alter the guard yourself. Self-adjustments can damage the appliance and may affect warranty coverage. Contact Sentinel first so our team can advise you.
Does a warranty mean my guard will last exactly that long?
No. A warranty period is coverage for qualifying defects; it is not a guaranteed lifespan. Read our separate guide on night guard lifespan and replacement when you are deciding whether a worn guard needs attention.
